There are a number of distinct ‘offerings’. The first is school based, these consists of a series of standalone (with in built follow up) sessions to be delivered in school time as part of the Art curriculum and/or enrichment. The sessions are fully planned to accelerate a learners understanding of the insights of an artist. In addition to the in-school courses that we run there is also the opportunity for school students to sign up for weekly after school workshops. These run over the course of each half term and specifically develop the learners knowledge but perhaps more importantly their artistic skills. The primary focus of these sessions is on drawing, observation, materials and interpretation.
The second type of course we offer is concerned with the local landscape and intends to immerse participants within in it whilst adhering to a strong set of overarching artistic principles. We believe that contact with the landscape is of intrinsic importance in being able to begin to interpret it.
The final course/workshop is development of the professional artist. RAW Guidance, Studio tuition and Landscape Experience Days aim to galvanise the development of artistic talents through a professional discourse.
