Nearing completion - Room of Inklings
The Room of Inklings - Ideas and thoughts stirred by the presence of a physical or tangible object. These objects are simple common items we may ordinarily take for granted yet have a profound effect upon awakening forlorn or deeply buried memories. The bottle windows serve as both storage and portal. Light reflects and refracts through the angular, smooth, coloured or clear glass. The subtle changes to the light cast soothing shadows and patterns into the interior of the 'Room'. Colour, texture, shape and form - all being vital to someone battling to save memory from the darkness of the mind.
'The Room of Inklings'
The individual ‘panels’ or ‘bottle windows’ are for sale. Each panel is 120cm x 80cm and contains at least 15 ‘memory bottles’. The content of each one varies and is a unique piece of Art in its own right. The 6 panels from the 2017 RHS Tatton Flower Show (Remember Me Garden by the Cheshire Garden) will be on permanent display at Leighton Hospital Dementia Unit. They are truly works of Art.
