The purpose of RAW-i Studios is to provide any participant (practising artists, fine art graduates, anyone (young or older) with a true interest in developing their artistic inklings) with guidance, understanding and support in the development of their art work. We offer professional guidance on how to further enhance and understand the practice of being an artist.
As fully qualified teachers we have generated a wealth of experience in both the secondary and tertiary sectors of education. It is through this experience that we are able to develop a unique programme of online tutorials and face-to-face sessions which adhere to contemporary conventions on 21st century learning. Underpinning our commitment to the learning process is an understanding of contemporary educational pedagogy and how a learner centred approach can truly maximise potential. Added to this [learner centred approach] is the keystone principle of divergent thinking. This is a concept whereby many differing ideas can be generated over a short period of time. Divergent thinking often occurs in a spontaneous, free flowing manner, such that ideas seem random or in flux. The resulting ideas can then be organised through convergent thinking into a structure from which creativity may flourish. A process of self-analysis will be the principle starting point in the journey. Elementary questions will be asked to find a core motive.
To deliver quality creative art workshops, guidance and support in developing the artistic talents of all those involved. To challenge held beliefs [about ones own art work/ability or skill] that will engender a renewed confidence and foster a fresh eye and vigour for future artistic endeavours.
“Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once he grows up.”
― Pablo Picasso
